The FA president, Isha Johansen, told participants that grassroots football was her authorization, adding that she started her club, FC Johansen, with boys who were homeless and less privileged from her neighbourhood.
She disclosed that these were boys whom she brought out from the streets and provided clothes, shelter and food for through the help of her husband and started traveling with them across the world.
These efforts, she added, helped her organize an international competition that brought together top soccer countries to Sierra Leone, noting that she was able to scout for players and change their lives through grassroots football.
Tamba Lamin, a participant, said that to be a coach they must be knowledgeableĀ and that the only way they could gain knowledge was by empowering themselvesĀ through such courses.Ā
