Khanou furthered that the path to reconciliation and peace was often a tortuous journey. He encouraged all to embrace each other that all have been worrisome for three years, as Sierra Leoneans the congress should be utilized as a platform for the preparation for the 2019 Nations Cup drive, Khanou noted.
“Let us change defense to attack to push football forward. We are taking the first giant step to accept the fact that we were not right to fight each other. I am very much looking forward to the commencement of the premier league with government ready to pay for all of this.” Khanou called on president Johansen to bury her ego and served as a mother. He appealed to her to carry everybody along.
Director of Sports Ibrahim Bangura stated that the congress was important; as he pointed out that President Koroma primarily wished was the commencement of the premier league, in order to salvage the most love game in the country. He encouraged delegates to allow the congress to move on well and he furthered that everyone should put the best garment of fair play on.
President of Sierra Leone Football Association, Isha Johansen said “the war situation I don’t want to be a part of, for the first time we have constitutionally elected delegates. Today is going to be the first day for the peace, we all wants”
She added that if the delegates wanted genuine and ever lasting peace they should be trust worthy among themselves and that they should stop the mendacious act, as if they have been victimized.
Johansen pointed out that the premier league would commenced with Two Hundred and Fifty Million Leones, with the support from the government as she indicated that happened to be the peace offering.
Idrissa Mago Tarawally, chairperson for stakeholder observed that Madam Isha was not ready for peace since she had rained abuses on them.
