Addressing exporters and officials of various government institutions the chairman Board of directors of the Sierra Leone Investment and export Promotion Agency Oluniyi Robbin-Coker said his organization had two mandates which includes promoting investments, and help facilitate exports in the country.
 He told the gathering that over the years, his entity had paid much attention to promoting investments, and noted that this time round they would give high premium  export and ensure that it was given a very serious attention.
Oluniyi Robbin Coker intimated that quite recently there had been an increase in the exportation of Ethanol, Crude oil, local produce such as of Cocoa and Coffee from Sierra Leone, and very soon Sierra Leone would commenced the exportation of produce like cashew to name a few.
 He furthered that for any country to have its economy developed, that country must have very good trade laws, opportunity in place for it to flourish, and investment and trade were about competitiveness timeliness.
According to the Chairman board of directors of the Sierra Leone Investment and Export Promotion Agency was well planned and formulated in terms of promoting trade and investment.
He concluded by saying that they decided to engaged the exporters so that they could put plans in place to ensure Export becomes easier in Sierra Leone.
Furthermore, the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Ibrahim Mansaray began by stating all that the theme of the forum making export easier underscored government’s commitment to advancing a broad based inclusive growth of the country’s trade and investment.
 He said his ministry was working in close partnership with partners promote in promoting trade in the country, and went on to referred to the forum as very much timely and relevant, as it would help to boost the country’s economy.
The deputy minister however noted that, his Ministry was very much aware of the fact that exporting was faced with multiple challenges, such as, inadequate export supply base, logistical constraints, inadequate financial support and delays in export documentations and more.
Similarly, the Director of Export Development at the Sierra Leone Investment and Export Promotion Agency , Shiaka Kawa said mining accounted for eighty percent of the country’s export and recently Agro-Business export had increased , and that in the not too distance future, Sierra Leone would start exporting new products.
He maintained that pillar four of the Agenda for Prosperity placed greater emphasis on exportation and his organization would do all it could to improve exporting .
Concluding, Shiaka Kawa reminded all and sundry about the theme of the forum and therefore called on their partners to develop a road map on how to make exporting easier in Sierra Leone.
