Sold Diplomatic Passports’ Probe: ACC Traps Nine More ‘Big’ Suspects

This is according to the Head of Outreach of the ACC, Abubakarr Turay.
He informed the press that the investigations relate to the issuance of Sierra Leone service passports to individuals who are neither civil nor public servants that paid the sum of $1,000 each to acquire the said passports.
As the ACC continues to investigate, the suspects are being held at the Criminal Investigations Department.
The Head of the Sierra Leone Police Media Superintendent Brima Kamara has confirmed that a ‘wanted’ notice had been issued for the arrest of the former head of the Sierra Leone Immigration, Alpha Kholifa Koroma.
The former Immigration Boss was declared wanted to answer relevant questions to the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) for issuing Service and Diplomatic passports to people that are not entitled.
The wanted notice was signed by the Executive Staff Officer of SLP Ismail Keita on behalf of the Inspector General of Police and addressed to all Directors, Regional Police, Local Unit Commanders and heads of departments for them to inform their personnel to arrest and escort the former Immigration Boss to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for the attention of the ACC.
In another development, the ACC has arrested three executive members, – the president, secretary general and treasurer of the Motor Drivers Union in relation to allegations of misappropriation Le32 billion of public funds for and on behalf of the union. The three executive members were not given bail while investigations continue.

The total number of suspects currently in the ACC net is nine while investigations continue.
