Commissioning the buildings, President Kaul said that there are too many children without parents and no one to care, as the world is getting younger. He made a plea to the old generation to stop saying, children are the future, but to start taking actions in supporting them.

Adding that “We should stop the talking of children being the future generation, but we should work hard to guaranty them a brighter future, for a better world to dwell in, when we will no longer be around” Kaul asserted.

National Director, SOS Children’s Village, Dr. Prince Cummings said SOS had always been supporting vulnerable children in the country. He said they would continue to support children in realizing their dreams.

Cummings maintained that SOS was very much instrumental during the Ebola outbreak and that the organization intended to improve on what they have been doing over the years, stating that the buildings is a symbol of more to come.

Hon. Minister of Social Welfare Gender and Children Affairs, Dr. Sylvia Blyden, established that the construction of the new buildings at the SOS Village is an assurance of their continual support for vulnerable children in every part of the country, and that SOS is one that follows international best practices in caring and fostering for children.

Blyden further stated that the SOS housing facilities maintained quality standard, as she made a plea to SOS authorities in order for them to establish in other part of the country, so that children’s in need would benefit.
