Dr. Cummings maintained that they considered the gesture as a way of empowering people in the community as one of the objectives of the organization was that people should take care of projects that had been given to them.

Director of SOS Technical Vocational Institution, Emmanuel Stafford, said SOS was phasing out of the project and leaving it in the hands of the community people, but emphasised that they would continue to monitor them.

Mr. Stafford further stated that SOS would continue to support farmers in that direction and that empowerment of farmers would definitely create self-employment for the people of that community.

He added: “SOS intends to maintain this relationship and I will personally ensure that I communicate to the National Director on how the project is progressing.”

Chairman Western Rural District Council, Alhassan Cole, said that SOS had done a good job and that they would take good care of what had been given to them. He promised that the people and organizations would make sure that SOS did not regret ever supporting them with training and livestock.

Chairperson GAFF farmers’ association, Catherine Pratt, thanked SOS for the gesture and in particular the training of local farmers in their communities, stating that the farmers would do all they could to ensure that they multiplied what had been provided for them.
