Records available to the this reporter indicate that Mohamed Bangura instituted court action against Dalian Shenghai Ocean Fishing Company, Abie Aruna Koroma of 52 Bush Water, Goderich and Monza Fishing Company located at 19 Wilkinson Road in Freetown over the rightful owner of eight fishing vessels.
The matter was adjudicated by Justice Alusine Sesay who initially slammed an interim injunction on Monza Fishing Company currently managing the fishing vessels, but later vacated the said interim injunction and allowed Monza Fishing Company to continue with its fishing activities within the Sierra Leone’s territorial waters.
Courts records, coupled with several proceedings on the said matter in the High Court left Mohamed Bangura in the cold and decided to take his matter to the Appeal Court for justice and fair play.
When the Appeal Court heard and determined the matter not long ago, three Appeal Court judges adjudicated the matter, but interestingly two of the judges delivered ruling in favor of the Respondents.
As result of this, Mohamed Bangura has left with no option but to instruct his legal team to file the matter in the Supreme Court of Sierra Leone for further hearing and final determination of case in question, as he strongly believed coupled with certain documents in his possession including the press of being the rightful owner of eight fishing vessels.
The lead Counsel for Mohamed Bangura, Francis Ben Kaifala who commenced legal proceedings against Dalian Shenghai Ocean Fishing Company, Abie Aruna Koroma and Monza Fishing Company was out of the country, but he expected to jet in tomorrow to continue the matter in the Supreme Court of Sierra Leone.
In our next edition, this press will make it public and published documents, why Monza Fishing Company flouted Appeal Court orders, restraining the company from operating at the Horse Fishing Company Limited located at Jui, in the outskirt of Freetown capital.
