Reading from a press release prepared by the two CSOs, William Sao-Lamin Executive Director Accountability Now – SL, said they are giving the Authority five days to reverse the increase.
Sierra Leone’s energy needs are under-resourced and the scarcity of reliable energy supply is one of the key impediments to Sierra Leone’s economic and social development. Speaking to journalists, William Sao-Lamin said although the Ministry of Energy is desperate to improve electricity generation supply across the country within the shortest possible time, yet as CSOs, they are calling on them not to increase the tariff.
He also called on President Bio to listen to the cries of his people as the increment is not in the best interest of the people.
The press conference took place on Tuesday 3rd December, 2019 at Accountability Now-SL headquarter at Beoku Lane, off Congo Cross in Freetown.
