The delegation kicked off the courtesy call with an inspection of the near- completed School of Architecture at FBC which was conceived, designed and built by the Sierra Leone Institute of Architects (SLIA) through donations by local architects but also with support from other sources.

The SLIA embarked on this initiative years back to make up for the shortage of qualified Architects in Sierra Leone and also to cut down on the prohibitive cost of training Architects overseas.

At the end of the meeting with the Acting Vice Chancellor of FBC, Prof Lawrence Kamara, the Dean of Engineering & Architecture Dr Kelleh Mansaray and a few other senior staff of the university, Chief Majekodunmi donated the sum of $5,000 towards the takeoff of the new School

He promised to reactivate contacts with Prof Adeyemi whom he had over a decade earlier, commissioned to assist with course conceptualization and preparation of a business plan for the Architecture programme. The visiting Chief also promised to assist in sourcing a Head of Department for the school.

The SLIA was represented at the occasion by Architect Alpha Tejan -Jalloh of TEDA and Abel Onomake of IDEAS Ltd respectively.
