According to the Specialist Anesthetist and Training Coordinator for Nurse Anesthetists,
Dr. Michael Koroma, the training started with the training of six (6) trainers, Martha Kailondo from Connaught hospital, Arthur Nicol from Aberdeen Women Centre, Emmanuel Margao from Pujehun Government hospital, Aruna Saffa from Bo Government hospital, Philip Mattia from Makeni Government hospital and Mohamed Bundu from Kenema Government hospital.
He said these trainers would then train all the anaesthetic staff in the four (4) regional hospitals in the country through supervision supported by Dr. Eva Hanciles.
 Participants during the training received lectures and presentations on airway management and intubation and the use of the Universal Anesthesia Machine including a post test.
 The session also focuses on the use of manikens, rapid cycle deliberate practice on routine Anesthesia scenarios on power failure, and oxygen failure during surgery.
Topics taught in the training, Dr. Michael Koroma said include intubation technique, the use of Ayres T-piece placement and the UAM modules.
