Speaking at the crowning ceremony, pa Alhaji Y.D Kamara the national president for the united council of imams in the country; said that Crowning ceremony of sheik Alhaji Jelanee Abdulia Sheriff is a way of bring sanity in the eastern region. (eluminoustechnologies)
He pointed out that the Sierra Leone united council of imams is the body responsible to crown imams in the country, and they have 53 chiefdoms in the north, 44 in the east and 52 in the south. And the Sierra Leone united council of imams was founded in 1986 to bring unity within the muslim family, especially its leadership.
He also noted that, as a council they are working in the interest of the muslim people in the country.
Sheik Alhaji Jelanee Abdulia Sheriff is the newly crowned regional chief imam east, he said that he is very delighted to be the newly crowned regional chief imam in the east, and however assured the united council of imams that he will be working in the interest of the Islamic people in Kenema.
It is anticipated that this new imam will bring more sanity in the eastern region.
