Making a statement, the Director general of the Sierra Leone Roads authority, Abdulai Aziz Kamara said he is happy that such a project is being handed over to contractors, noting that it is a project for the people and so they must take ownership of it. He said the project is a 62 kilometer project funded solely by the company itself China Railway Seventh Group and that upon its completion there will be a toll system in which certain amount will be paid per vehicle to raise funds of which some amount will go to the government.
Honorable Kombor Kamara is the chairman of the Parliamentary oversight committee on works housing and infrastructure, according to him he sees the  handing over of the project as a historical one which brought together different stakeholders at both the signing of and handing over of the contract. He said as members of the parliament they will ensure they monitor the project to its conclusion and urged community people to support it to the fullest.
Speaking before handing over the certificate to the contractors, Deputy Minister of Works housing and Infrastructure Madam Kadija Sesay, first commended the president Dr Ernest Bai Koroma for what she described as a judicious leadership by providing what is needed by his people. She said road construction is key and that all of the stakeholders must support the project.
She urged the contractors to do a very good work for the people of this country adding that as a government they will continue to do more.
A representative of the China Railway Seventh Group made a statement of commitment in which he says as a company they will do all what is expected of the them to have a good and standard road that will last longer.
This handing over ceremony of the 62kilometre wellington Masiaka road project brought together the deputy minister of works housing and infrastructure, representatives of the parliamentary committee on works housing and infrastructure, the Sierra Leone Roads Authority, Community stakeholders among others.

It is believed that the wellington -Masiaka road project when, completed with a four lane road plus a dual carriage way and also expected to last for over 25years, the rate of road accidents will be minimized if not eradicated.
