Recapitulating her confessional statement in what was described as a brutal murder at the residence of the deceased, detective sergeant John Nanoh told his audience that the first accused confessed to police that she told her son, Omar Eustace Majid Cole, the second accused, to hire the services of able-bodied men to “steady” the deceased.
She also told police that she resolved together with her son, including the other six accused, to murder Johnson because he had continuously prevented her from accessing monies from her husband’s office and to have her late husband get medical treatment before he eventually died.
The first accused also informed police that she had told a certain Aiah Senesie, who bought the car of the deceased, not to bring in the car at the Criminal Investigations Department Headquarters when requested for.
Whiles the police was recounting her confessions in court the accused went on her knees saying she couldn’t continue because of her state, prompting the prosecuting counsel, Francis Ben Kaifala to request the bench for an adjournment, which was granted by the presiding Justice Sam Margai of the High Court of Sierra Leone.
Counsel representing all eight accused persons was absent in court. The matter was adjourned to Tuesday 14 March 2017.
