The meeting also aimed at bringing Bombali people to know their concerns and challenges faced by the district, so that the people should be involved in developmental activities.
Peter Bayuku who is Minister of Works and Public Assets said as a ministry they are working for the interest of Sierra Leone and protecting government assets. He noted that the people of Bombali should be committed to supporting the government on development programs.
He added that they are there to know the constrains of the people and to have a clear insight on government properties.
He said that as a ministry, they would put systems in place that would checkmate road constructors, adding that the SLRA should always be at the center of all roads construction in the country, and that feeder roads should be a priority to Bombali District.
Santigie Brima Mansary who is the deputy Mayor of Makeni City said the move of the ministry is in the right direction to mitigate the challenges faced on roads. He stressed that roads flood during the rainy season in Makeni because of small drainages. He noted that the time for politics is over and the people should now support the government on infrastructure development.
Abdulai Ansumana who is the Deputy Director General for Sierra Leone Roads Authority revealed that they are constructing roads across the country and building bridges. He said they are in arrangement with the World Bank for funds to construct four ferry crossing points and bridges, adding that they would also be constructing feeder roads leading to international border crossing points.
