Speaking to a galaxy of journalists from various media houses, Mr. Palmer maintained that his troubles started back in 2016 when he noticed that the neighbors in question Mr. Traore and Mr. Jalloh when they started construction of the building, they did not leave the four feet allowance away from the boundary wall as required by law, but built the structure in such a manner as not to leave the required four feet allowance thus causing him and his family great discomfort.
He lamented that since then he has done all he humanly could to get the relevant authorities attention to the fact that he is facing these problems because somebody is using money and other inducement to get his way after committing illegality in the first place.
“Even President Maada Bio is not above the law and so how can the authorities allow certain people to be going around disobeying the law with impunity and they are allowed to go scot-free. This beats my imaging and it is the reason why people with money tread on the rights of ordinary people,” Mr. Palmer said.
He went on to say that the matter dragged on and on with no one in authority willing to ensure that such illegality is punished to set precedent for others to no avail. He said that after this he had no option but to take legal action which he lamented has also not been as helpful as he would like the reason why he is calling on the press to help him seek justice.
He stated that he has correspondences as evidence of his genuine efforts to seek redress against such illegality since construction started until it is now a towering structure at 82 & 82A Soldier Street.
Reacting to the allegations, a woman who identified herself as Haja Zainab said arrogantly in the presence of journalists that her father who owns the house has eighteen children and that all of them are ready to take the fight to Mr. Palmer and that they won’t relent. Investigations continue.
